It's high time for my Footloose breakdown. So here we go. We'll see what I can remember...Friday NightThis was the show that all my friends were comming to. So I was all the more nervous. Plus, (and this doesn't help) call time was 4 o'clock. 4!! That's 4 hrs before curtian time, folks. So that really helped my nerves. Heheh. So I got there at like 4:10, and luckily I didn't have to lug all my costume bags in and out 'cause we had locked them up in a "cage" thingie on Thursday night. Then, what I did is layed out my costumes. This is an elaborate process, and it entails unpacking all the clothes, sorting them (into the following piles: wear througought the show OR worn for opening- barring the sweater which falls in this catagory, which is placed stage left for the quick change, overall getup (goes to stage left) [overalls, near:], black tee-shirt, (goes to stage left) white tee-shirts, red tee-shirt, waitress costume, finale dress, 2nd act opening BARRING the denim skirt which is also used in the opening/quick change on stage left, etc.) and placing all of them- stage left stuff at stage left, and laying out all the other piles in an orderly fashion.
Wow, that was LONG.
Anyway, after I did my whole costume thing, I *think* I changed into my opening costume. (Flesh-colored liner, flesh tights, bright dance thingie, jazz sneakers) Mind you, my hair or makeup wasn't done. So I got that done next. Leah did my hair... tee hee, I love my hair the way it was. I'll post the URL for a pic soon.
BRB. (I just shoveled snow! Watch those defrosting hands sshhaakkeee...)
Anyway. What else. Friday night? Well, circle went well. (It was good for the entire show, now that I think about it.) The show was tres good. I made a few mistakes, but overall, it wasn't terrible. Afterwards, Jaime *insisted* on comming backstage, which irked me a little, [it's an actor/actress's space, like Michael said!] especially seeing as I totally wasn't decent. But she really, really liked the show, so it was alright. Katherine came back later, which didn't bother me as much [who knows why.] There was this expression of perminant... like... shock/delight on her face. And she just said "He is SO hoooot." And of course, I knew she was talking about Jon. LOL. She was like that *all* night.
After the show, the cast [most] went to Friday's in a town near the theater. I took my friends there 'cause I like the food, lol. It was so much fun! Madeline is SO funny, and i'm glad I invited her. She's a lot nicer then I sometimes think of her.
That's really all I remember of the Friday night show... I think I might have stayed up after we got home and uploaded pictures. Till like 3.
Following: Saturday breakdown.
Wow, this is really tiring to write!
Saturday AfternoonSaturday was the day I woke up feeling SO sick. I had this terrible neck-up sickness. Ew ew ew. Like I couldnt' talk. I was so worried about not being able to perform! I mean- 2 shows in one day, and I get sick. Anyone would be worried. Lots of tea I did drink. :). So I showered - call time was 12, but I didn't get there till 1. Lauren greets me with, "Hello, sleepyhead!" and I make a motion at my throat, like slitting it (meaning I can't talk- I have no voice). She looks at me for a minute and says, "You really can't talk?" and I nod. Then she made me talk, lol. Great for my throat! But Vicki said to do what I can in terms of warmup and stuff. Keith had been sick the day before, so I told him he gave it to me. I brought 2 BIG thermos's of yummy apple cinnimon tea that I ended up sharing w/ Sam 'cause she was sick, too. So I did my whole costume she-bang and got ready- hair and makeup and all that. I can't remember if it was Saturday-- but before one of the performances Michael sat the entire cast down on the stage and told us about how we need to perform as a UNIT, and not for individual goals. Hah!! I mean, I feel that way, but I know many people don't. Anyway.
So the show on Saturday afternoon was the understudy show. I was so happy- Emily didn't mess up!! (Emily had the part that many people said I would have gotten, had she not auditioned. But she's SWEET, so I like her.) And Alex was good, and Julie was... Julie. I'm not sure I like her yet... but the show itself was good. Michael said it was better then Friday night, and I'll take his word for it... I thought it was ABOUT the same as opening night.
Between ShowsBetween shows, Leah, Liz, Cara and I drove over to a little grill, (more like a greasy-spoon) near the theatre so we 'could be back by call time.' Let me tell you: NO ONE is back for Sat PM call time. LOL. So we went to this place and got food. I wasn't mad at Leah or even THINKING about what I was eating... I mean I was a little, but this entire break I haven't been giving it a huge, huge amount of thought... :-/.. So- oh yeah! We had been kind of running away from Kendra 'cause we didn't feel up to talking w/ her, I guess. So Mr. B (Leah's Dad) gave her mom wrong directions. LOLOL. I mean, I felt bad for her, but it was kind of funny. So as we were leaving, Kendra and Yui showed up and Leah's dad insisted on staying for like 20 min. So Liz and I watched a basketball game, hehe.
When we got back to the theatre, we just set up for the saturday PM show, basically. I think also this is when I enjoyed my yogurt and granola, which was a big hit w/ the cast!! I'm gonna do that every show now! LOL.
Continuing the breakdown!! (For my dearest Leah, LOL. Your "More! More!" note on TOD made me happy.)
Saturday NightWell, this was our best show. But when we got back from the diner, everyone was SO tired that we all went to nap. (I think it was the previous [Friday] night that I stayed up till 6? I can't remember!!) But before one of the call times- I think it was this show, but i'm not sure at all- I tried to nap on the couch backstage. Didn't work. LOL. What happened Saturday night... I tried to have Michael let me hand out the pins I made for the cast, but it didn't happen. Hm.. What else about Saturday night? Well, it was our BEST show. I think I said that already :). Oh! LOL During the song 'Mama Says' (the reprise) when we all come "bucking" out... my mike pack fell out of my pocket! LOL- We were about to start singing the "ooh"s and I thought, my pants feel awful light. So I look down real quick and there it is, hanging about 1" off the ground. So I reel the pack in by its cord and cup it in our hands as we're singing the "ooh"s. Luckily, we're doing prayer hands at that point, so it worked. Then when we run back before the end of the song, I stuffed it back in my pocket. So it all worked out, but it was SO funny. Then, later, I fell on the pack. Ouuuch. :).
Can you remember what else happened? I can't.
Diner ExperianceWell, after the Saturday show, as is customary, the whole cast (or at least everyone minus like 2 people) showed up at a diner that was actually surprisingly hard to get to, hehe. But when we got there, again like at the HAiR diner, we were split up over 3 tables. So that sucked. I hope I didn't offend anyone with my choice of seat (::coughLiz/Samcough::). And then Laura INSISTED on comming. Blech, suffocate me now please. So the diner was okay. Leah had a tiff w/ her father... :(... I love my Leh! So after the diner, we went home. Oh what fun! I uploaded all the pix and such. Didn't get to bed till LATE.
Sunday ShowWell... what can I say about Sunday, now. It was our worst show, I think. Sam H. had practically no voice the entire first act, but somehow she got it back for the 2nd act. What would suck, though, is if they gave us THIS tape. I want Saturday night, goshdarnit!
I'll come back to this... I really will!
